The Western influence on the Arab Spring - 2
Revolutions - be they spontaneous or not - are more appealing than wars. They cost less in terms of blood and money. This explains the great interest taken by the West in the development of programs designed to bring about revolutions. These programs make use of a template, a pattern. This can be seen in the color revolutions in Eastern Europe and the Green Revolution in Iran. Now we have the Arab wave, and again the same elements are back.

WHO plays dubious role in Swine flu pandemic
On June 11, 2009 Margaret Chan, the Director-General of the WHO, declared the Swine Flu a pandemic. The declaration of phase six means that emergency procedures are put into motion which bypass established systems designed to safeguard the public health. The result of this is described in part six of this DeepJournal series on the Swine Flu. Conclusion: the vaccine is being tested while being administered to the public. The definition of what a pandemic is, is therefore of great import.

How Dutch Minister Klink decided on vaccines with additives - 2
The Netherlands has an ongoing contract with Solvay Pharmaceuticals for the making of vaccines without additives. Then Dutch Health Minister Klink severs - with all of its accompanying financial consequences - the contract with Solvay. He signs new, secretive contracts with GlaxoSmithKline and Novartis, companies that make vaccines with additives - the so-called adjuvants. In The Netherlands everyone is receiving the same vaccine containing adjuvants - whether they are young or old, pregnant or not. What happened that caused Klink to make this decision?

How Dutch Minister Klink decided on vaccines with additives - 1
In the international battle against Swine Flu different countries use different vaccines to protect their citizens. In the Netherlands vaccines containing additives are being used. But he didn't get this advice. And yet he still went ahead and made a decision. Who advised him on this?

Vaccination advice given to pregnant women based on 'practically no scientific data'
The vaccines Pandemrix and Focetria have been chosen to fight the Swine Flu in The Netherlands, vaccines with so-called adjuvants. On what basis was the decision made to vaccinate pregnant Dutch women with these specific drugs? The answer from the National Health Council is clear - though not reassuring - namely 'that there is practically no scientific data on the use of the adjuvants (agents that stimulate the immune system) used in the vaccines during pregnancy'.

This was done in a very short period of time. The long-term effects to all parties involved are unknown.

Interview financial expert: more expensive, less to spend, riots in the streets
You have to figure on riots and rebellions taking place, especially in the big cities. Some countries may see revolutions, the Mediterranean countries in particular. At that point government buildings could be set on fire and government employees attacked. You have to consider these kinds of scenarios. In any crisis situation you're going to have people who revolt. In order to see what can happen in a crisis situation we have only to look at what happened in Argentina. People went from being middle class one day to finding themselves below the poverty line the next.

It was never his intention to say, 'We've gone into debt, and as long as everything's okay we'll go deeper into debt'. Earlier this month the Annual Threat Assessment was released by the U.S. Director of National Intelligence, Michael McConnell. The assessment, provided as a testimony for the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee, offers an insight into the current outlook of the president's most important intelligence advisor. In his testimony McConnell emphasizes Iranian attempts to enrich uranium as well as Iran's capacity to fire long-range weapons. The combination of these two are now being presented at the highest levels of power as the central argument for branding Iran as a danger to world peace. As if the National Intelligence Estimate never even existed.

Votefraud Obama and Paul in New Hampshire? - It would only be history repeating
The world is puzzled by the sudden surge of Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire. For Barack Obama a seven point victory was predicted, yet he lost by three. How could the polls be so wrong? One important thing I learned from writing my 16 part series on (electronic) voting is that polling is a near science and that when the 'real' numbers, i.e. the voting results, all of a sudden differ widely from these polls there is a big chance there is a dead rat nearby. It seems to happen every time when voting results tend to go in a direction that deviates too far off the status quo.

The stories we know about the most famous terrorists and the best known terrorist plots do not match up with the facts. DeepJournal created a seven part series detailing this issue, starting off with the case of the Liquid Bombers. The limitations for liquids on airports are the result of the near attack by these so-called Liquid Bombers. Their plot was foiled just in time in August of 2006. Or was it? There are still some disturbing questions to be asked regarding the terrorists and their plan. Questions that can no longer be posed to the leader of the Liquid Bombers, Rashid Rauf, now that he has escaped under suspicious circumstances.

Despite NIE: White House policy towards Iran unchanged
The release of the National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) earlier this month is bringing a serious conflict among the American elite to the surface. The neoconservative block within this group of elites is being driven into a corner by the rest of the establishment. These opponents, responsible for the NIE, don't want a war with Iran. However, the ideology of the neocons is intact, and they are the ones who are still calling the shots. This resistance will only make the resolve of this group greater. In this way the report may actually increase the likelihood of an escalation, while at the same time the result of such - a war with Iran - continues to be a real possibility.

Further steps in the lead-up to the war with Iran
The Bush Administration says it wants to solve the situation with Iran diplomatically. Meanwhile this series from DeepJournal is showing that behind the scenes there is little to no credibility being given to this route, and that preparations have been underway and continue to be made for a military conflict with Iran. Experts in the area of American foreign policy point to the possibility that the U.S. could provoke an incident in order to then be able to intervene militarily. From this perspective, they have their doubts about the American view of alleged Iranian interference in Iraq and even about the recent incident in which six nuclear weapons were flown over the U.S.

En route to a military confrontation with Iran
Neither the situation in Iraq, nor the financial crisis, nor the price of oil is capable of driving the issue of Iran into the background. The threat of a conflict with Iran remains at the top of the agenda. Despite battle in the White House: war with Iran
Those who are calling for negotiations are operating from the faulty assumption that Iran is going to be able to remain a sovereign state. The goal is for an Iran that is under the influence of Israel and the U.S. This goal can't be achieved in full without some form of violence. Thus the only way that the Bush Administration can rehabilitate itself in the eyes of the public - given all the scandals and the mess in Iraq - is to pull itself out of its slump via spectacular means within the time remaining in the current presidential term. Altogether this means that only one option remains - the option that was the objective from the very beginning, namely an attack on Iran.

Stan van Houcke: Absolutely not, the neoconservatives are bunch of radicals. They've hijacked America. And not just the America of the poor, because the America of the poor is always getting hijacked by the elite. It's now the American elite that's also been hijacked and is getting dragged along.
Daan de Wit: Do you still have hope for the future? Because you're saying that these neoconservatives don't represent the elite as a whole in America and might end up being held in check...

Stan van Houcke: 'And one of the fundamental problems that keeps getting worse is the fact that journalism operates without a larger context. [...] Make no mistake about this one thing: the people you see on TV who do the reporting - they're working there for a reason. I'm not working there. They'll never see me there, though they would never ask for me either, just like they'll never ask for a number of other people as well. It's like a virus - the 'healthy immune system' of the media expels people like me.'

Experts: limitations on handluggage hardly useful
Fact: liquid bomb plot is nonsense
The cause of the limitations on handluggage is Rashid Rauf, the so-called Liquid Bomber. He has already been released a long time ago, because there was no evidence against him. 'In all of this, the one thing of which I am certain is that the timing is deeply political. This is more propaganda than plot. [...] Be sceptical. Be very, very sceptical', is the final conclusion of Craig Murray.

Attack on Iran is the next step in divide and conquer of Middle East
The march towards war with Iran
continues unabated. As time goes by, the possibility that Iran will be
attacked is not lessening, but growing. It will increase the level of
chaos in the Middle East, but the question is whether this is an
unfortunate consequence or a means to an end.

The confessions made by KSM while taking responsibility for the planning of more than thirty attacks raise the following question: Was it Khalid Sheikh Mohammed who confessed responsibility for 9/11? Willem Middelkoop on the economy - March 13th, 2007
A new series of conversations between economics reporter Willem Middelkoop and Daan de Wit on current economic affairs.
Today's conversation deals with the collapse of the American housing bubble, something that is now clearly beginning to take shape and which is expected to have a greater impact than the implosion of the technology bubble.
In this conversation we'll also be talking about a new book that's coming out, based on the interviews with Willem Middelkoop by Daan de Wit, some of which can be found on DeepJournal, and some of which have yet to appear.

An interview with media professor Cees Hamelink on fear, terror, 9/11 and Iran
Cees Hamelink: It's idiocy anyway, to not be allowed to take more than 100 ml onboard a plane. It suggests that you can take 100 ml of nitroglycerin in your bottle with which you blow up a whole bloody airplane. So it's absolute rubbish. It's meant to scare the living daylights out of us, it's meant to keep us alert and to keep alive a notion that terrorism is really dangerous and it is necessary to spent an enormous amount of money. Because mind you, terrorism, or whatever it was in the WTC in September 2001, wasn't the defined as a criminal act. If it had been a criminal act, it would be clear what we should do: we send the police after the bastards and get them behind bars! But now it was defined as a war and a war needs an enormous amount of investments, needs an enormous defense expenditure. And in order to legitimize that, you make people scared; it was what Goering said after the second World War: We could make anyone believe whatever we told them, because we made them afraid.

The coming war against Iran - Part 15
Using strong words and accusations to underscore their military build up, the United States is gearing up to go to war with yet another country: Iran. Now that with every day passing a war with Iran is coming closer, all the parties involved are further entrenching themselves.
It is a war that seemed to be inevitable from the start. Nobody wants it, except a few. History will show if these few will get what they are aiming for.

In an excellent story Keith Olbermann exposes the four claims president Bush made in his State of the Union address regarding foiled Al Qaeda plots. Every one of the plots mentioned were non exsistent, yet presented as truths by Bush. By Way Of Deception Thou Shalt Do War, is the motto of the Israeli spy agency Mossad, but it might as well be the motto of the Bush government.

The Coming War Against Iran - Part 14
Bush and Cheney have less than two years to go in their current role and want to go down in the history books as the heroes of the Pax Americana, as the men who managed to conquer the Middle East and its oil, as the men who took full-spectrum dominance seriously, while in their own country booking successes through exorbitant profits for the military-industrial complex and the realization of radical legislation. The prelude was long and the path was full of obstacles, but the goal of a third great war - a war with Iran - is increasingly within sight. [...] Bush and Cheney have taken a beating, but they have not been defeated. Moreover, they have nothing to lose.

Economics journalist Willem Middelkoop on the feeble basis of our monetary system
Many times monetary systems have broken down. This already happened two hundred and twenty times, says Middelkoop. There have been 220 different monetary systems which were backed by insufficient amounts of gold and silver, which were in fact unsecured, and those systems collapsed at a certain point in time. There comes a point when the confidence in paper money starts dropping in such a way that the system collapses. [...] The collapse of monetary systems is not a phenomenon limited to any one time period, be it that the period we are living in stands out. [...] In the past you did find these unsecured monetary systems on a per country basis, or in a specific region. But what's happening now has really never been exhibited before.

Why the media ignored 9/11
Part 2 of 2
The official theory regarding the events of September 11th is a bad conspiracy theory. It's a shaky theory any way you look at it, it even runs counter to some laws of nature, and it relies entirely on the shock effect felt by the public, and in turn the media, for its success. Sometimes journalists are just people. They also felt the shock of 9/11, and they also went along with the Bush administration's flimsy theory. Meanwhile five years have gone by, and the Old Media are lagging behind the facts that are being presented by the New Media. How was this possible?

When consternation arose about the war in Iraq and how it was forced upon us by the BushBlairBalkenende government, some pointed at the Vietnam war. The story goes, that back then this war was forced upon the American people. How was this achieved?

Systematic fraud in US elections - Part 5
Dutch prime minister Balkenende is licking the boots of Bush and will soon be visiting him again, but not everyone is such a good friend of the current American government. The Times of India writes that Tony Blair's wife believes that George W. Bush stole the elections: '"Cherie Blair still believed that Bush had stolen the White House from Gore," author Philip Stephens wrote in his book Tony Blair: The Making of a World Leader. '[...] She believed Al Gore had been "robbed" of the presidency and was hostile to the idea of her husband "cosying" up to the new President.' DeepJournal has written extensively about this theft. (see the rest of our series VoteScam). Also Gore Vidal, who is by now a regular guest of DeepJournal, is quick to respond.

Whitewash operation Iraq war in full swing
In England as well as in America
'Half Britons say Hutton was "whitewash"', headlines Reuters. Half of the Britons apparently cannot be fooled. The Guardian calls it a 'cover-up'. In the meantime, Blair's colleague
Bush is also busy trying to appear innocent: 'A Senate report says the
CIA is to blame for bad intelligence on Iraq. Critics say there's a whitewash underway', headlines
MSNBC.

Blair lied to be able to wage war against Iraq - 2
'In a staggering attack on the OSP, former CIA officer Larry Johnson told the Sunday Herald [...]Johnson said that to describe Saddam as an 'imminent threat' to the West was 'laughable and idiotic'. He said many CIA officers were in 'great distress' over the way intelligence had been treated. 'We've entered the world of George Orwell,' Johnson added. 'I'm disgusted. The truth has to be told. We can't allow our leaders to use bogus information to justify war'.

Blair lied to be able to wage war against Iraq - 1
Tony Blair is under fire because he allegedly lied. In a fine article in the Sunday Herald it appears that Blair let himself be lied to purposely and that he passed on the deceitful information to convince his own people. A crucial role in this scandal which could ruin Blair is reserved for Donald Rumsfeld's secret agency OSP.

Secret three-day summit to start tomorrow in Versailles
Tomorrow the annual Bilderberg conference will be held in Versailles. The summit will last three days. This according to bilderberg.org, the website that for years has been reporting what the regular media has failed to provide to its viewers and readers. As usual, all the major (Dutch) media refused to report about it this year. Or is it not that important when about 130 of the most important individuals in the world meet each other to discuss policy matters?

Is Syria on the same list as Iraq? - 2
Besides Iraq, Syria also target of neocons
Jim Lobe writes: 'As speculation about a U.S. invasion of Syria reaches a boil, it is helpful to look for hard clues. Many of the same neo-conservative hawks who campaigned for war against Iraq have signed reports in recent years that call for confrontation -- not mere engagement -- with Syria. In words that echo the same logic for striking Baghdad, the most prominent report, called "Ending Syria's Occupation of Lebanon: The U.S. Role", warned that Damascus is developing weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and encouraged swift preemption.

American poison gas for Saddam, courtesy of Rumsfeld
By having a personal meeting with Saddam Hussein in 1983, the American Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld took care of it that American companies started to deliver poison gas to Iraq.
